Private Capital specializes in knowing the private equity marketplace. This market is complex and diverse, with each source of equity having its own peculiar set of criteria. These criteria, as to what is or isn't a suitable investment for a particular investor varies according to industry, geographic location, size of investment, stage of development and desired involvement (i.e. active or passive). We pride ourselves in effectively identifying the specific sources of financing that will be most suitable for a given situation. Occasionally, creative forms of quasi-equity which have some features of debt but include an equity incentive for the lender/investor may make sense. Some instruments may feature a royalty payment to the lender/investor if required. Sources of private equity can include wealthy individuals (angels), venture capital funds, labour sponsored funds, equity arms of financial institutions, funds specializing on buyouts of existing shareholders, and funds specializing in turnaround situations.

Public Equity

For clients who wish to enter the public markets, Private Capital will establish a program to prepare them organizationally and to ensure that they have the documentation and financial statements necessary. When ready, Private Capital will act as advisor in their dealings with the investment community as we jointly select a qualified investment dealer. Private Capital's involvement in this process is not an extra cost as we will typically share our fee with the investment dealer to minimize costs to the client. Private Capital's expertise is in making connections - between companies in different industrial segaments, in different parts of the world and between those enterprises and sources of capital that is the lifeblood of business. Private Capital can quickly take over responsibility for implementing a divestiture strategy once a decision has been made.
